BNR 118: Nenad Senic on why print still works and how to win with it

Brand Newsroom Marketing Podcast

Nenad Senic is group editor at Slovenian content marketing agency Poslovni Mediji and the European editor of Chief Content Officer magazine. He’s one of Europe’s top content marketing minds and an expert in how to use print effectively.

When the Content Marketing Institute’s Australian 2017 Benchmarks, Budgets, and Trends report came out recently and revealed 39 per cent of us are still using print as a distribution channel for content, Nenad was the obvious person to call. He joins James and Sarah for a chat.

Please note: We had some issues with the audio this week. Please accept our apologies for the sound quality.

Here are some key take-outs:

“One of the reasons marketers need to really consider print is it gives you the ability to discover things you can’t find online. You discover things your filter bubble might otherwise screen out.” — Sarah

“The best test, or compliment, to your content marketing — to see if it’s relevant — is if your customers also want to give you money for your content, not just for your products or services.” — Nenad Senic

“Understand who that person is you’re trying to reach. Is it a medium that they will enjoy, that they will pick up and participate in.” — Sarah

Recently we hosted our first BNR with a studio audience. James, Sarah and Nic were joined by Ben Martin, head of digital at Seven West Media in Western Australia, for a discussion about how traditional media is coping with digital.

And here’s a discussion about email marketing. The BNR team asks the question, what’s best practice?
